GPX Media adds 18 aircraft, powerful weaponry, and numerous special effects with its World War II themed add-on FirePower for Combat Flight Simulator 3. Fans of the popular simulator series can pilot such famous warbirds as the Lancaster bomber, P-40N and P-40F fighters, B-29As, B-17Fs, and B-17Gs, as well as German bombers and fighters, including the Do-17 and the ME 410. A host of new missions is also incorporated, including a historical re-creation of the Memphis Belle’s tour of duty.
New and powerful payloads are also available in the add-on, such as the 22,000 pound Grand Slam bomb and the devastating Fat Man and Little Boy nuclear bombs. Players will also experience more realistic special effects as they fly the unfriendly skies. Fuselage rattles and cockpits light up as flak riddles the atmosphere, enemy fighters and bombers will leave fiery trails when they are shot down, and proper G-forces must be maintained by the pilot in order to control their aircraft.
Combat Flight Simulator 3 places players in the position of either a fighter,
a ground attack or bomber pilot in the thick of World War II, from 1943 to the
end of the war, allowing them to feel the heart-pounding rush of
low-to-the-ground air combat over the European countryside. Players can enlist
for the U.S. Army Air Force, Britain’s Royal Air Force (RAF) or the German
Luftwaffe as they fly missions revolving around air superiority, close air
support and low-altitude tactical bombing.
